- ➤ A collaboration between Job Point and Flourish Initiative has built a new art shed for a youth shelter that gives residents a special space to create and heal. Access Arts will design the interior and may offer art classes this fall, and local donations helped support the project. Columbia Daily Tribune
- ➤ On September 11th, community members in Columbia gathered to honor the lives lost in the 9/11 attacks and to pay tribute to soldiers who served, with ceremonies held at the Boone County War Memorial Plaza and flag placement at the courthouse lawn representing those who sacrificed in Afghanistan. A navy bell rang to remind everyone of the tragic past while local officials and dignitaries laid wreaths and flowers to honor the fallen. KRCG

SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Mizzou Athletics announced Thursday that the Saturday football game has been moved to a noon start to avoid the extreme heat—temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler at noon than at its planned 3 p.m. start. The change also led to an update in the city bus schedule, with revised times set to be posted Friday morning between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. after final review with bus supervisors. ABC 17
