  • Following the closure of Rainbow House, a children's shelter, in late September, Boone County officials discussed a contract to create a new, independent child advocacy center aimed at expanding services for child abuse cases.  KOMU 8

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Officer Evan Alexander Dunn, a Rock Bridge High School and Columbia College graduate who served in the Missouri Army National Guard and Colorado National Guard, died in a crash while on duty in Colorado.  ABC 17

  • A suspect was detained after an assault was reported at a Walmart in Columbia, with police confirming no further threats to the public.  ABC 17
  • Keenan Hawkins was charged with five felonies including drug trafficking and unlawful weapon use after being found with a stolen vehicle and various narcotics in Columbia.  KRCG

  • The Missouri Eastern District Court of Appeals ruled that counties cannot impose a 3% sales tax on marijuana, saving consumers about $3 million monthly.  KRCG
