ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Columbia Fire Department confirmed no hazardous material exposure occurred after containers of radioactive material, used for medical scans and found to be empty, fell off a shipping vehicle near Truman VA Hospital.  ABC 17

CRIME NEWS

  • A Columbia man was sentenced to four years in prison for third-degree assault after a jury found him not guilty of first-degree murder in a 2022 shooting case.  ABC 17
  • Vandalism occurred at the Boone County Republican headquarters, damaging at least three signs with offensive symbols and remarks.  KRCG

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Missouri Department of Conservation postpones trout stocking in Cosmo-Bethel Lake, Columbia, due to warmer water temperatures, with plans to proceed when cooler weather lowers the water temperature to suitable levels.  KOMU 8
