ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Columbia Fire Department extinguished a commercial structure fire, determined to be incendiary, causing $200,000 in damages with no injuries reported.  ABC 17
  • The Columbia Fire Department quickly extinguished a warehouse fire on Oct. 20, suspected to be caused by unhoused individuals, saving most of the structure valued at $750,000.  KRCG

CRIME NEWS

  • Leonard Lee Hall, 69, was arrested in Columbia for attempted first-degree rape, kidnapping, third-degree assault, and property damage at the Midway Budget Inn Hotel.  KRCG
  • Columbia police are investigating a Sunday night shooting on Clark Lane that left one man with life-threatening injuries, with suspects still at large.  Columbia Missourian
  • Guillermo Vasquez Hernandez has been arrested and charged with burglary and forgery for allegedly breaking into women's apartments in Columbia, Mo. since 2020.  ABC 17

  • The Columbia City Council plans to discuss a new community paramedic program to enhance opioid response and a proposed well near the McBaine Water Treatment Plant to improve water flow.  KOMU 8
