- ➤ Authorities issued a silver advisory after 80-year-old Keven W. Martin went missing near Providence Rd+Stadium Blvd in Columbia on Thursday afternoon after he dropped off his wife at University Hospital and was last seen driving a white 2013 Lincoln MKS with his Yorkshire terrier while having dementia and diabetes. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ MU President Mun Choi announced Friday the launch of Power the Roar, the largest fundraising campaign in the school's 186 year history that aims to raise $2 billion. The campaign has already raised nearly $750 million and will support projects in education and community development — expanding Mizzou’s impact. KOMU 8
- ➤ University of Missouri Board of Curators extended President Mun Choi’s contract through 2031 during a public meeting in Columbia last Friday. Governor Mike Kehoe praised his leadership and said the university remains a key asset for Missouri. KOMU 8
- ➤ UM leaders are considering public-private partnerships to turn nonessential campus properties into developments—such as hotels, restaurants or student housing. UM System President Mun Choi said the school will soon ask developers for proposals and gather public input as curators help guide the process. ABC 17

- ➤ The City of Columbia Public Works will reinstall speed humps and speed tables on three city streets starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9—causing temporary lane closures as crews work to finish by 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11. KOMU 8
- ➤ State Rep. Ed Lewis's proposal to change initiative petition rules cleared a House committee Thursday after votes in one district could defeat statewide ballot measures with just about 5% of the vote (based on last year's totals). The measure would bar foreign contributions, require public hearings, and add penalties for fraudulent signature gathering. KOMU 8
