ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 33-year-old Nebraska woman was seriously injured after a boat propeller hit her while she was swimming at Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday when a 22-year-old man accidentally reversed his 2023 Landau pontoon at mile marker 6—she was flown by helicopter to University Hospital. ABC 17
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Two former employees of the Mareck Center for Dance have opened Columbia Ballet Academy and will begin classes Sept. 2. They are determined to keep ballet alive in the community+ and have already received strong local support for the launch. KOMU 8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MoDOT announced road work plans for mid-Missouri roads that will start or continue in the first week of September—projects include lane closures on Boone County’s Lenoir Street and I-70 with some work finishing in September and others scheduled through December or as late as 2027. KOMU 8
