ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported 843 school bus crashes statewide in 2024 that resulted in seven deaths and noted most accidents occurred between 3 and 4 p.m.—officials urged drivers to give school buses room when their lights flash to protect students. ABC 17
- ➤ A Columbia man riding a 2001 Honda Shadow was seriously injured in a Howard County crash Sunday afternoon when his bike left the road—hitting a fence and overturning—and he was taken to University Hospital. ABC 17
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Missouri held its annual Tiger Walk on Sunday to mark the start of fall classes; freshmen walked toward campus and Jesse Hall for a welcome from alumni & community members. The tradition started in 1995 and features speeches from university leaders, a run through The Columns, and treats from Buck's Ice Cream. KOMU 8

- ➤ Capital Paving will begin mill and overlay pavement maintenance on several Columbia residential streets Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.—motorists should avoid parking where posted signs are displayed as work occurs daily weather permitting.
