COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Aug. 16, festival participants will gather at Cosmo Park Antimi Shelter at 3 p.m. for an 11-mile bike ride along Bear Creek Trail that wraps back at Cosmo Park, with live music and food trucks provided. The Bear Creek Bluegrass Biking and Music Festival lets riders enjoy the event at their own pace + non-cyclists may purchase tickets for music only + organizers have set a series of performance stops along the route.  Inside Columbia
  • The Biscuits, Beats and Brews festival will take place Oct 3-5 at Cooper's Landing, featuring nonstop music on two stages and food by Ozark Mountain Biscuit and Bar. • The Missouri Department of Transportation said the new bridge on northbound U.S. 63 in Columbia is nearly finished and drivers will shift to northbound lanes for head-to-head traffic between Broadway and Vandiver Drive starting Wednesday—this change lets crews begin work on the southbound overpass bridge over I-70.  KOMU 8
  • Maple Meadows Drive will be closed from Monday at 7 a.m. until the morning of Friday, Aug. 15 as crews install a new water main for the roundabout project at Route K and West Old Plank Road.
