Columbia Farmers Market will celebrate National Farmers Market Week on Aug.

8 at Agriculture Park from 8 a.m. to noon with contests. The event begins with throwing a tomato at the MU Health Care Pavilion’s south entrance — a watermelon eating contest and the returning Zucchini Grand Prix follow.

Discount retailer Nordstrom Rack will open a new store at the Shoppes at Stadium near the University of Missouri campus this fall.
