ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ State troopers investigated a fatal crash that occurred Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. on I-70 near the Midway exit west of Columbia— a passenger vehicle collided with a semitruck, shutting down eastbound lanes until they reopened by 10:30 a.m. KOMU 8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Columbia received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation for a $2.13 million grant for early improvements on Business Loop 70—after an earlier cancellation—and the project is part of a $25 million capital improvement plan—spanning from Stadium Boulevard to the new Conley Road Bridge. - ➤ Columbia Public Schools will no longer offer free on-campus flu shots due to a $804,000 loss in federal funding that ended the 15-year program—nearly one in five students now must seek vaccination at the Health Department on 1005 W.
