- ➤ On Saturday, Frame the World carpenters and Habitat for Humanity volunteers built a house frame in the Boone Prairie subdivision starting at 6:30 a.m.—they faced delays with undelivered trusses that stopped the roof from being added to a four-bedroom house. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Authorities searched a wooded area near Holts Summit on Saturday after suspect Joseph Hughes allegedly stole loaded firearms and fled on foot, and he was taken into custody at 6:46 p.m. without incident—residents had been advised to secure their properties. KOMU 8

- ➤ At 9 a.m. Saturday, the Columbia City Council approved six police department positions for fiscal year 2026—three civilian investigators, two airport safety officers and one property and evidence technician while additional roles await further review. - ➤ The Show Me State Games are underway in Columbia as thousands of athletes began Saturday’s soccer matches at Cosmo Park, marking the event's 41st year.
