Ashland Pride (fifth annual) festival took place on Saturday at Ashland City Park with 50 vendors, a youth area including a bounce house and live music, and safety measures such as EMS on hand to help manage the heat.

Local artist David Spear will paint a new mural featuring 30 historical faces in the North Village Arts District.

The project will bring a fresh piece of community history for residents to enjoy.

The City of Columbia will host bow hunter orientation and registration sessions at the Activity (1701 W.

Ash) on Tuesday, Aug. 18 (5-6:30 p.m.), Friday, Aug. 21 (2-3:30 p.m.) and Tuesday, Aug. 25 (6-7:30 p.m.) to issue permits for the 2026-27 season. The sessions support urban deer management.
