  • Joshua Frye from Mexico was charged Monday with felony and misdemeanor DWI after allegedly driving intoxicated and causing a crash that killed two people.  KOMU 8
  • A Columbia woman accused of a hit-and-run in a 2023 motorcycle collision — which resulted in a fatality — faces trial on charges of involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene.  Columbia Missourian

  • Columbia was named one of the 25 best college towns by Travel + Leisure—showing that students enjoy art, food, and fun spots like Buck’s Ice Cream—and the accolade reflects the town's strong school spirit and community traditions.  Columbia Daily Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials named three finalists for the director of neighborhood services position. The finalists will be available for the public to meet (5-6:30 p.m. Friday at City Hall).  Columbia Missourian
  • Columbia’s finance director plans to use public improvement funds—reserved for the fiscal year 2026 general fund—to cover sales tax revenue gaps, and the new budget plan will set spending priorities as the city prepares for future challenges.  Columbia Missourian
