ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 35-year-old Ashland woman was injured Thursday evening on U.S. 63 when she hit a combine traveling southbound between Columbia and Ashland—she was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to University Hospital while the combine driver remained unharmed. KOMU 8
- ➤ On Friday, a tire detached from an unknown vehicle and hit a 2022 Buick Enclave on I-70 eastbound near mile marker 140 in Callaway County, causing moderate injuries to a 47-year-old passenger who was taken to University Hospital+ troopers reopened the road by 11:04 a.m. ABC 17
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Columbia man, 47-year-old Brandon Butchkoski, was arrested Thursday after he allegedly tried to set a house on the 1500 block of Paris Road on June 29, causing minor property damage, and he was booked at 4:49 a.m. Friday for first-degree arson and drug possession — formal charges have not been filed. - ➤ On July 1, a Holts Summit man, 31-year-old Jesse Smith, led deputies on a high-speed—over 115 MPH—multi-county pursuit through Callaway and Cole Counties and was arrested near Jefferson City, and he is now held without bond on charges including resisting arrest and driving while revoked. KRCG
