Columbia firefighters responded Saturday night on Fallbrook Drive in southwest Columbia after a call at 8:20 p.m. reporting a house fire — they found the garage fully burning and are working to put out a fire in the attic.
Columbia police and emergency crews were seen downtown this morning near the Boone County Courthouse with over eight police vehicles, two ambulances and evidence markers along East Walnut Street—while vehicles with bullet holes and a flat tire were spotted on North 9th Street.
Hundreds of athletes aged 50 or older will compete at the Missouri State Senior Games this weekend in 21 events including archery, pickleball, and track and field — competitors from 17 states will join the festival.
Veteran Bonnie Champion, 85, and Scott Schwartz, competing for 15 years, said the games keep them active and build lasting camaraderie.
