ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Columbia Fire crews rescued two people from a car trapped in floodwaters on Creasy Springs early this morning — no injuries occurred as the rescue took less than five minutes.  ABC 17

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A Missouri law preventing utility companies from disconnecting air conditioning for unpaid bills takes effect today & will be in place each year from June 1 through Sept. 30 if forecasts show temperatures above 95°F or a heat index over 105°F.  ABC 17
  • Today, Columbia Regional Airport opens a new 700-space parking lot at 4 a.m. and Allegiant Air introduces flights to Orlando Sanford starting Wednesday and Destin-Fort Walton Beach beginning Friday. The city council will vote on a new airport department on Monday to manage current and upcoming projects.  KOMU 8
