- ➤ University of Missouri Board of Curators approved tuition hikes for the 2026–27 academic year, increasing undergraduate rates by 4 percent, graduate rates by 3 percent, and professional rates up to 4.75 percent to support student success while keeping costs below the national average; details will appear on each campus website. - ➤ Eighth grader Ananya Aggarwal from Columbia Independent Upper School is set to join the national spelling bee as the 124th competitor, sparking local pride + highlighting the school’s strong academic program. Columbia Missourian
- ➤ Columbia’s Collegiate Advisory Board met Tuesday night to finalize survey questions on public safety and accessibility for incoming freshmen; the survey will launch via a QR code in September with results reviewed at the next meeting on Aug. 24 (council chair Chloe Campbell noted the session’s unique opportunity).
