- ➤ Columbia Farmers Market will resume its summer Wednesday market May 27, running weekly from 4 to 7 p.m. through Aug. 26 at its usual location. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Missouri Board of Curators will vote today on a 4% tuition increase for undergraduates across four campuses (Columbia's rate would rise by $19.11 per credit hour, with a nearly $287 surge in the average semester cost) set to take effect in fall. ABC 17
- ➤ Columbia Public Schools seniors will graduate this weekend, and ceremonies will include reading the names of three deceased students after community advocacy prompted the change. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The University of Missouri has installed an experimental radar outside Columbia to fill gaps in low-level storm data missed by distant National Weather Service radars, and forecasters say the extra data will help verify storm rotations + track precipitation changes. KRCG
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Eligible Boone County seniors can apply for the property tax relief program until 5 p.m. on June 30 in person or by mail at the county center + notary services are available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday to verify applications. KOMU 8
- ➤ Go COMO will return to its six fixed routes after nearly three years of compressed service. Starting May 26, buses will run on 45-minute cycles from 6:25 a.m. to 6:40 p.m. on weekdays while Saturday service will be reduced with three buses starting at 10 a.m. Columbia Daily Tribune
- ➤ Columbia announced weekly recycling pickups will resume on June 15 after improved staffing at its Solid Waste Utility. Residents should use blue recycling bags for plastics, metal, and aluminum items — paper must be bundled and glass is not accepted. KRCG
