EDUCATION NEWS

  • Local Moberly parents have launched a memorial scholarship in honor of late virtual student Kayla Huff, who died after being missing. Moberly School Board VP Heather Cleavinger and parent Michelle Tindle have raised about $330 of a $1,000 goal, with funds set to be awarded to a student from Huff’s class in 2028.  ABC 17

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Two westbound I-70 ramps will close Monday night for MoDOT’s Improve I-70 project — exit 127 from Rangeline Street and exit 126 to Providence Road will be shut from 8 p.m. Monday to 2 a.m. Tuesday, so drivers should use alternate routes.  KOMU 8
  • Residents in central Missouri can get help with their energy bills via Ameren Missouri and LIHEAP programs. LIHEAP applications are accepted until May 31 (through the Missouri Department of Social Services) for those needing assistance with heating and cooling costs.  Columbia Daily Tribune
