- ➤ Boone County Historical Society will induct Karen Miller, Franklin Mitchell and the Columbia Cosmopolitan Luncheon Club into its Hall of Fame at a gala on Oct. 4 — the event honors their contributions to the community. Columbia Missourian
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Boone County deputies arrested Dalton Perkins, 31, of Sturgeon for fatally shooting a 56-year-old man in the 18900 block of North Highway NN at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Saturday—emergency crews responded but the victim died at the scene. KRCG
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Fulton will host its 13th Morels and Microbrews festival later this spring, where a four-hour daytime event will feature morel mushrooms, local homebrewers, vendors, and live music. Organizers will close streets and set up tents ahead of the event—where a panel of judges will decide the winner of a homebrew competition with a chance for wider distribution. KOMU 8

- ➤ The Missouri Department of Conservation warns boat owners that zebra mussels may hitch a ride on boats and equipment when moving between Missouri waterways this summer.
