- ➤ Columbia Farmers Market received a $30,000 donation from Veterans United Foundation on Tuesday+ the funds will support its Access to Healthy Food program that doubles SNAP and WIC benefits up to $35 for qualifying seniors, disabled individuals and children. KOMU 8
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters responded to Oak Towers Apartments on Tuesday night—where a fire broke out in a third-floor apartment and was contained to one room—and treated several people for smoke inhalation while the fire marshal began investigating the cause and crews later reopened East Sexton Road. ABC 17
- ➤ A two-vehicle crash occurred on April 28th in Boone County when a 2014 Toyota Prius crossed two lanes and struck a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, seriously injuring a 9-year-old girl and a 54-year-old man from Hartsburg and critically injuring a 48-year-old man from Columbia—all three were taken to University Hospital. - ➤ Keiner Farith Asprilla, an 18-year-old MU basketball prospect, is held without bond in Boone County Jail Tuesday after being charged with first degree rape, first degree sodomy and second degree kidnapping for an alleged incident at the Tiger Hotel on September 21, 2024. KRCG

- ➤ On April 5, the Marfilly fashion show took place at A. P. Green Chapel in Columbia — a local event led by University of Missouri student entrepreneur Christian Estrada that celebrated Latino culture and highlighted his parents' immigrant journey.
