- ➤ Flower Folk and Missouri Conservation Corps planted one burr oak and two native hazelnut shrubs at the West Ash neighborhood green space yesterday, (a Love Your Block mini-grant project) while leading sessions on urban planting and tree care; the group will host more tree plantings in late April. - ➤ Friday night's keynote speaker at the Unbound Book Festival persevered amid tornado warnings as the event delivered a successful weekend. Columbia Missourian
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Boone County Nature School in Columbia was named a 2026 Green Ribbon honoree today for its focus on sustainability, student health, and hands-on environmental learning, which includes planting native plants and designing a rain garden as part of the district's outdoor education program. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ After Friday's storms brought tornados and widespread outages, most areas in mid-Missouri regained power over the weekend while Camden County still had 2,624 customers without power, including losses noted in Ameren Missouri and Stover (Ameren reported 85 outages affecting its service areas). GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MoDOT is closing the U.S. 63 northbound on and off ramps at Grindstone Parkway today for ramp construction that will last until the end of June. Parts of East Haven Road and Lenoir Street near the ramps will remain closed as crews upgrade drainage, electrical systems, and traffic lights. ABC 17

- ➤ Boone Health is hosting Spring Screening Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Boone Health South — 900 W. Nifong Blvd — to offer imaging and preventive health services outside regular hours.
