- ➤ Show Me Central Habitat for Humanity held its 35th annual garage sale Saturday — drawing hundreds of people as rising building costs raised concerns about affordable homes. Organizers said 140 volunteers helped sort donations all week — funding future projects to build homes in Columbia. KOMU 8
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A car crashed following a pursuit by Boone County deputies in northeast Columbia Saturday night near the roundabout in front of the Drury Plaza Hotel around 11 p.m.—no injuries were reported although a child was seen being placed in an ambulance. ABC 17
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Early Saturday evening, Columbia police took a suspect into custody after shots were fired into a building on Vandiver Drive — Parker Street was partially closed during the arrest and no injuries were reported as the investigation continues. KOMU 8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Columbia City Council will vote at 7 p.m. Monday on a Parks and Recreation proposal that asks for over $350,000 for projects—this includes a $200,000 roof replacement for the Northeast Regional Park event center that has experienced over 20 leaks. The proposal also includes funds for improvements at the Rainbow Softball Center and curb repairs at Albert-Oakland Park. ABC 17
