ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A tornado hit Pilot Grove southwest of Columbia, damaging buildings and cars in Cooper County as emergency crews began assessing the damage. Columbia Missourian
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Renee Rardin (37) of Columbia was charged on Wednesday with two counts of drug possession, third-degree assault and misdemeanor animal abuse after authorities reported she abused a dog at Cosmo Park and threatened guests at a motel on Monday and she is held without bond at Boone County Jail. - ➤ Missouri State Highway Patrol has issued an endangered person advisory for 51-year-old Christy Hayes, who has been missing since 4:30 p.m. March 25 when she left the Eldon Police Department at 111S Oak Street and should not be approached because she may be armed and has a history of mental instability (she is 5-foot-2, brown-haired, seen in a pink-checkered long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and black boots, and drove a silver 2009 Dodge Charger with license RC9V1E). - ➤ Photographer and physician David Lancaster builds his passion for art into innovative projects at Orr Street Studios—he uses his protest series 'Broken' to capture raw emotions from the COVID-19 era and hosts monthly open studios to share his evolving techniques. - ➤ At Columbia Agriculture Park, new insect sculptures by artist Stephen R. Feilbach are on display—two were donated and two are on long-term view. The park, which hosts the local farmers market, will soon start constructing a community welcome center that offers event space, a community kitchen, and expanded food production. COMO Magazine

- ➤ Yesterday, the University of Missouri held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for MURR West, a $20 million, 47,000-square-foot addition to the MU Research Reactor facility that expands research and medical isotope production space. In a few weeks, MU will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for two more buildings to boost no-carrier-added Lutetium-177 production and storage support. KOMU 8
- ➤ The University of Missouri held a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday at 11:30 a.m. to open its new three-story, 47000-square-foot addition called MURR West, which has 16000 square feet on the first floor for research and medical isotope production and extra space on the upper floors for current staff and future expansion; speakers included University President Mun Choi, Executive Director Matt Sanford, former U.S. Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer and Board of Curators chair Todd Graves. - ➤ Missouri Credit Union members voted Tuesday to approve River Region's acquisition, and River Region will merge systems by November 1 while members can still use Missouri Credit Union locations (fee and rate changes will be announced in advance).
