- ➤ Jerrod Whelchel, a man from Mexico, was charged with Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of Weapon—Exhibiting after he showed a handgun during a road rage incident on Highway 63 on Friday at 7:48 a.m. when a victim in a work van, who had his four-year-old in the car, reported that the driver sped alongside him near Paris Road. - ➤ A Versailles woman was charged on Monday with four felony counts after she allegedly tried to kill her spouse by putting rat poison in lemonade in December and antifreeze in tea in January (no bond was set). ABC 17
- ➤ Walter Montejo, 26, of South Gate, California, who is accused of causing a deadly I-70 crash last August that killed Cindy Helms, 54, and Melvina Colin, 84, faced a Boone County judge Monday at a pretrial conference that considered rescheduling his jury trial for fall—he is charged with two counts of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault and driving with a suspended license. - ➤ Applications for the Boone County Senior Real Estate Tax Relief Program open today for residents 62 or older who did not apply last year and must be submitted with notarized forms—a deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on June 30 and forms can be sent online or dropped off at the Collector’s Office. - ➤ More than 100,000 Anthem customers will lose in-network care at MU Health Care today after contract talks stalled over a pricing dispute. Anthem urged members receiving treatment to call the service center for help finding other in-network options. KOMU 8
