- ➤ MU Extension advises local hikers and campers on safely navigating bear areas as activity rises. The announcement urges keeping food secured and staying 100 yards away from bears (to avoid encouraging bears to seek human food) during this busy season. Columbia Daily Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MoDOT is closing the Conley Road and Business Loop 70 intersection today for a 60-day roundabout construction project. Alternate routes are provided while improvements to nearby I-70 interchanges continue (completion is expected in May). ABC 17
- ➤ Boone County invites residents to review its draft stormwater plan update designed to improve local water quality. A public meeting will be held on April 2 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Columbia City Hall Conference Room lA/18, and feedback will be accepted online through April 10. Columbia Daily Tribune
- ➤ MoDOT announced that a section of I-70 Drive Southeast from Woodridge to Glenstone Drive will close today after a 14-day delay, lasting 300 days for new bridge construction — motorists will be directed via Keene Street and St. Charles Road while all businesses remain accessible. KOMU 8
