CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office reported several drivers were followed by vehicles flashing lights at them on Facebook Saturday and urged any victim to call 911 immediately or report the incident to a nearby police station. ABC 17
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, Boone County Fire Protection District responded to a wildfire near Midway on Black Walnut Court and North Rollingwood Boulevard after a controlled burn got out of control behind homes—firefighters used a long hose line and dismantled a nearby shed and fence to contain the fire. The crews also managed another controlled burn on Friendship Church Road that burned 7 to 10 acres and reported no injuries. ABC 17
- ➤ Boeing was awarded a contract on March 21 to build the F-47 fighter jet at its St. Louis facility next to Lambert International Airport, a move that will create thousands of jobs and boost economic growth in Missouri—Gov. Mike Kehoe said the project will drive innovation in national defense. KOMU 8
- ➤ Missouri state senators considered a bill that would protect free speech from SLAPP lawsuits—lawsuits that burden critics with high legal costs—at a recent hearing.
