Eight runners completed the first Casey's Brekkie Run on Saturday morning—a 19-mile loop that stopped at four Casey's locations in Columbia.

Organizer Beth Shepherd said the event, inspired by her brother-in-law, celebrated Casey's breakfast pizza in a fun, low-barrier way.

City crews will clean the exterior windows at the Fifth and Walnut Parking Garage at 500 E.

Walnut St. at 6 a.m. Monday (weather permitting). Road closures and lane shifts will affect North Fifth Street and sidewalks, with work projected to finish by 5 p.m.

Columbia Public Works will begin roadwork on Rogers Street in front of Jefferson Middle School at 7 a.m. Monday, closing one lane for concrete repair, and will work on Forum Boulevard near Crestwood Lane at 7 a.m. Thursday with lane shifts and traffic message boards until 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Missouri lawmakers are trying to bring driver's education back to public high schools with House Bill 2195, noting only 7% of schools offer these courses.

If passed, schools will adopt free safety programs provided by professional groups (according to bill sponsors) to improve teen driving skills.

Columbia College will demolish several historic properties this spring (officials said no new buildings are planned), a move that will change the landscape of the campus.
