CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The family of a University of Missouri fraternity member who died last March in Nashville filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Delta Chi, claiming the fraternity did not follow safety protocols at a formal event—video and toxicology reports showed he was heavily intoxicated before his body was found in the Cumberland River. - ➤ On March 19 and 20, Columbia police executed six search warrants that resulted in eight arrests and the seizure of more than 34 stolen firearms from a burglary ring — the department is offering a cash reward of up to $25,000 for additional details. KRCG
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, about 115 Mizzou medical students learned their residency matches—an event filled with excitement and emotion—at the School of Medicine Atrium. Class president Noah Kronk, who chose to stay at Mizzou with his wife, said he felt joyful after opening his envelope. KRCG
- ➤ Sarah Sicht was chosen as principal at Eagle Bluffs Elementary School — currently under construction and set to open in fall 2026 — and she will start her role next school year. She is now serving as principal at Benton STEM Elementary School and brings 25 years of experience from Columbia Public Schools. KOMU 8

- ➤ A lucky man won $100,000 from a lottery scratcher he bought at a QuikTrip on Clark Lane in Columbia. The Missouri Lottery said the Extreme Cash game has paid out over $34.7 million—leaving prizes still unclaimed. KRCG

- ➤ MU Health Care has increased security at its facilities after a national health center warned of a possible coordinated threat against hospitals in mid-sized cities.
