  • Sewing for Second Chance will be held on Saturday from 10:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at My Quilty Pleasure (1900 N. Providence Road, Suite 201) where participants will sew pet beds for donation to Columbia Second Chance, and tickets cost $20 to cover materials.  Inside Columbia

  • COU is upgrading its kitchen to serve hot food and made-to-order meals for travelers, and flights to Charlotte will boost airport traffic starting in May (expanding local dining options).  Columbia Missourian

CULTURE NEWS

  • Vintage & Vinyl Festival returns Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. at Logboat Brewing Co where a curated market runs until 5 p.m. and live music, food trucks, games, and complimentary cold beer are expected to draw over 1,000 attendees.  Inside Columbia

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city is hosting a tenants' rights presentation to help residents understand housing codebooks and housing safety. Locals can learn about their rights and clear guidelines at this informative event.  Columbia Missourian
  • Residents, business owners, and property owners can share feedback on the Business Loop improvement plan at an open house on Thursday, Mar. 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Boone Boone Electric Cooperative on Rangeline Street, where design ideas for better transportation and streetscape upgrades are showcased.  ABC 17
  • Crews from the city public works department will repair pavement on North Garth Avenue near Parkade Elementary and South Fairview Road near Fairview Park tennis courts from March 23 to 27 — lane closures and traffic delays are expected, so drivers should plan alternate routes.  Columbia Daily Tribune
